Terry Coe

From an early age I remember going to work on weekends with my father who worked in commercial construction in Peterborough Ontario. He had me cleaning up sites and sweeping apartments from about the time I was 10 years old.
Two of my father’s projects really stuck out for me. The first project was when I was about 8-10 years old. It was a 4 building apartment complex consisting of 7, 9, 11 and 13 storey buildings. I was amazed at how those buildings changed that neighborhood and am still impressed when I drive by those buildings knowing that he had a part in creating it.
The other project was a custom home for the author Farley Mowatt in 1989. The level of detail in that house was very different then the commercial projects I had been exposed to. I trained with a Scottish carpenter and did everything from BC fir timber framing to a finished barrel vaulted ceiling. I am proud to say that my name went into the time capsule as one of the 4 main guys that built this home.

Graduated from Loyalist College in 1991 from Architectural Technology.
Worked for a development company for 3 years – Project manager (nursing home, school addition, Walmart) in Belleville.
Worked for a natural gas contractor for 2 years – Foreman of 2 construction crews in Toronto.
Started Woodhouse Construction in 1995.

I currently live in the Beaches neighborhood of Toronto and share a family farm near Bancroft Ontario with wife Susan and dog Ella on weekends.
